Cavotec Meyerinck Welcomes New Managing Director

Cavotec Meyerinck, one of our three Airports market units, has a new Managing Director: Jochen Eberheim.

Jochen holds an engineering degree from the University of Applied Since in Gießen, Germany. His career includes a 13-year stint as Marketing and General Manager for leading industrial measurement and automation equipment supplier Endress+Hauser in the US. Before joining Cavotec, he was Division Manager for electrical temperature at Wika in Germany. We welcome him to the Group and wish him all the best in his new position.

From Cavotec, we will have representatives from the entire Airport Market Unit – Cavotec Dabico, Cavotec Fladung and Cavotec Meyerinck – all of which are market-leaders in the design and manufacture of in-ground fuel systems, airport refueling systems and advanced in-ground utility systems, respectively.  At inter airport Europe, Cavotec Fladung will be presenting an “APU free” airport concept, which will help to reduce carbon emissions.

image001at the 17th annual inter airport Europe exhibition is where you will find us October 6 – 9, 2009.  The inter airport Europe exhibition is the airport industry’s international meeting point for buyers, vendors, specifiers, decision makers, architects, consultants and system integrators. The show encompasses all aspects of airport equipment, technology, design and services.

As such, representatives from our Airport Market Unit are already confirmed to attend. The Market Unit is comprised of three of our Centres of Excellence – Cavotec Dabico, Cavotec Fladung and Cavotec Meyerinck – all of which are market-leaders in the design and manufacture of in-ground fuel systems, airport refueling systems and advanced in-ground utility systems, respectively.  At inter airport Europe, Cavotec Fladung will be presenting an “APU free” airport concept, which will help to reduce carbon emissions.

We are excited about inter airport Europe; the previous exhibition in 2007 was a record event, with more than 600 exhibitors and some 13,000 visitors from all over the world.  This coming October, inter airport will be held at the Munich Trade Fair Centre.

2008’s 4Q report released

Again, another report and another record year-end Order Intake, up 11.1 percent over Q4 2007, on top of a strong year-end order book, up 21.4 percent over 2007.

The Group’s year-end Order Intake was worth €36.0 million, with a year-end Order Book worth €46.1 million. Order Intake for the 12 months also rose, up 9.6 percent to €146.5 million.

Highlights included two significant panzerbelt orders in the Middle East, including two Ship Transfer Carriages for Dubai Maritime City. The Airports business unit recorded additional orders for fuel pits, coilers and vault access covers with customers across the globe from the UK, Kenya, India, Greece and the US.

, Cavotec’s recent acquisition, contributed significantly to Q4 order intake and order invoicing activities.
