Zero-emission Concept Terminal Launches World Tour

Global logistics group, Wallenius Wilhelmsen (WWL), is preparing to showcase its zero-emissions Castor Green Terminal concept at a series of industry events around the world in 2011.

The terminal and handling centre concept seeks to demonstrate that ports, if designed and organised appropriately, will be able to operate without generating any air-, sea- or land-based pollution. You can learn more about the project in the film below.

WWL hopes the initiative can show renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, and building and equipment design can combine to ensure that ports operate with minimum environmental impact. The Group believes the concept will come to fruition by 2020. The Castor Green Terminal tour gets underway at the Automotive Europe Conference in Bonn, Germany, that starts on March 1.
