Exploring new opportunities at a packed OTC 2014

We’re at the vast #OTCHouston exhibition this week, and judging by the sheer number of visitors, you can see why it’s one of the largest trade shows in the offshore sector.

Busy, busy, busy: OTC 2014 is exceptionally well attended.

Busy, busy, busy: the Cavotec stand at OTC 2014.

According to organisers, OTC (the Offshore Technology Conference) is “the world’s foremost event for the development of offshore resources in the fields of drilling, exploration, production, and environmental protection.”

At this year’s event we’re exhibiting our range of systems for offshore energy and maritime applications, including steel drag chains, radio remote controls (of the explosion-proof and standard varieties), MoorMaster™ automated mooring, AMP, cable chains, power connectors, slip rings and motorised cable reels.

The Cavotec team tell us that our radio remote controls – used, amongst other things, for operating machinery in harsh environments – are attracting particular interest.

“A lot of people are asking about our radio remote control systems; it’s a market where we certainly see a great deal of potential,” says Sofus Gedde-Dahl, Managing Director, Group Sub-unit Oil & Gas.

If you happen to be at OTC, do drop in to see us at stand 5235!

We are gearing up for another offshore extravaganza at one of the world’s leading trade shows for the energy industry, OTC (Offshore Technology Conference) HOUSTON, which gets underway on Monday.

During the show, we will be focusing on several product areas including explosion proof (Ex) (and non-Ex) radio remote controls (RRC), Alternative Maritime Power, cable chains, power connectors, slip rings and motorised cable reels.

Billed as highlighting “the development of technologies that serve the offshore industry in the fields of drilling, exploration, production, and environmental protection”, the event attracted almost 90,000 visitors in 2012, and some 2,500 exhibiting companies.

As in previous years, we are in the Norwegian Pavilion, and you will find us at booth 5235. Click here for a full exhibition booth map.

The enquiry level throughout the four-day show was encouraging, with several enquiries for core Cavotec products, and our local agency lines.

Interest was especially strong in motorised cable reels, spring-driven cable reels, connectors, radio remote controls, Brevetti cable chains, Gantrex rail clips and pads, Vahle conductor bars, Brieda seats and consoles, and Gessmann joysticks.

Many thanks to the staff we had on the stand including, Sures Sinnadurai, Jeff Humphreys, Steve Conrades, Mark Payne, and particularly the guys who travelled so far: Jan Buttle-Ulvin (Cavotec Micro-control Singapore) and Bruno Pierobon from Gantrex Belgium.

Also, a special thanks to Tony Iseppi who arranged the exhibition and Julia Weinhart for organising the banners for our stand.
