Airport market unit reports excellent progress in Turkey

We have recorded a series of ground support equipment orders from three Turkish airports in recent months. The deals will see the delivery of hydrant pit systems to Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, Antalya Airport and Istanbul Atatürk Airport.  Upon completion of these three orders, Cavotec will become the leading supplier of hydrant pit systems in Turkey.

The largest of the three orders is the previously announced agreement with Sabiha Gökçen International. Under the deal, we are delivering 112 fuel hydrant pit systems and isolation valve chamber covers.

Located some 30 kilometers (20 miles) southeast of the Turkish capital Istanbul, the former military airfield is named after the world’s first female fighter pilot.

Antalya Airport, situated on Turkey’s south coast, has ordered 100 hydrant pit systems and 10 hi/low point drain pit assemblies. Low point drain pits are designed to remove non-fuel fluids and other contaminants that can accumulate in aircraft fuel pipelines, high point vent pits remove air from the system.

Cavotec will also supply 30 hydrant pit systems, six hi/low point pits and four access covers to Istanbul Atatürk Airport. Deliveries are scheduled for completion in June.

The completion of the Turkey orders follows a resilliant start to the year for our Airports market unit, with orders reported in China, India, Europe, Russia and the Middle East.
Commercial and military airports throughout the world use our innovative in-ground and pop-up pit systems to supply aircraft with air, water, fuel and power. We also supply a broad range of aircraft cables, connectors, cable coilers, caddies, tow-bars and Pre-conditioned Air (PCAir) systems to airport operators worldwide.

Was the Turkish orders news (which seem reasonably large) reported to the NZX? Can’t remember reading it .. just the Manchester, Doha orders. (and Port Hedland/St Laurence).

  2. Robbie,
we usually report orders of this size and scope in our Quarterly updates or, as in this case, as separate trade-industry press releases. We mainly reserve the NZX MAP for orders of material significance.

    Regards,
    Michael

Are you aware that TAV that run the Ataturk airport opens a new airport in Alanya-Gazipasa in 2010?
