Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) recently published a release detailing 2009 industry performance and highlighting trends.  Last year, despite a tough economy,  over 13 million guests sailed on cruises last year.  We are especially excited to hear that the industry is doing well because one of the forecast industry trends that will “help define cruising in 2010″ is, “New green, environment-friendly shipboard technologies being utilized, such as solar power, advanced water treatment systems, Alternative Maritime Power, fuel conservation, innovative hull treatments and others.”

We have written about cruise lines making progress towards environmental efficiency, but this time its nice to see the entire industry acknowledge such important trends.

Cavotec at TOC Asia

From March 16 – 18 Cavotec will be at the Terminal Operations & Exhibition Asia (TOC Asia) held at the Shanghai International Convention Centre.  TOC is the premier event for benchmarking port and terminal performance, regionally and globally. All aspects of terminal management, from quayside crane performance to velocity of gate movements, are discussed and compared.

We are looking forward to being a part of it.
